I am very honoured and absolutely delighted about winning the NASEN Special Educational Needs Academic Book Award 2011. NASEN's longstanding commitment to inclusive practice and its attention to the work of practitioners make this Award all the more significant to me. I would like to thank all at NASEN, and in particular the members of the jury for their kind and insightful comments on my book. Special thanks are due to Alison Baker at Continuum for her unfailing expertise and for selecting my title for the Award.
